When we were on vacation last week, I spent the restful time not adhering to any schedule (bliss), and catching up on fun things I wanted to do for months.
Such as . . .
1) Read a book by my favorite novelist
2) Sleep in late
3) Play outside in the middle of the day with my family
4) Create something pretty from fabric (a project that’s been on hold since April)

Butterflies and hearts adorn this light and crinkly seersucker lavendar fabric that I turned into a ruffly scarf–une écharpe en lavande avec jabots.
This was scarf #2.
Scarf #1 was created for my cousin Heather who’s more like a sister than a cousin–and I think in the end, it became a boa for her almost two-year old daughter.
For all the fanciful things that I make and give away, this time I decided to keep something for myself. It was the perfect accessory with my punchy green shirt that I wore to church.
Do you like?
If you want to make a ruffly seersucker scarf for yourself, follow Dana’s easy tutorial on Made. By the way, use a very very light fabric like seersucker. Thin cotton is just too heavy. Trust me. Seriously.
More vacation photos coming soon (breathtaking sunsets and shimmery waters) . . .

Good job. enjoy. MIMi
