Almost two years ago, I purchased the Sunday Best Bowtie pattern by CrabAppleAttic on Etsy. . . just in time for Easter. To my surprise, he loved wearing the bow tie very much, even though it was a struggle to tie it on that first time.
There’s something about getting gobs of compliments from the gentlemen and ladies at church that must have changed Calvin’s mind
Bow ties aren’t so bad after all–he garnered SO much attention for such a little guy.
Since that first bow tie . . . I’ve created many more. And now, he’s asking for one in every single color. I have to add pink and purple to the list.
Usually, I just shop around for fat quarters, and when I see a print that I love, I’ll use it to whip up another bow tie.
Here’s one of his favorites that he wore to church with his dapper little newsboy hat.
Since we’re going to a family wedding later this month, I made a couple more to go with a dandy black vest. Calvin specifically requested a yellow bow tie.
Instead of delaying this post so I can 1) tie all of his bow ties and 2) take a photograph of them outside with decent lighting…I’m posting this NOW. Enjoy the cuteness.
I’ll get a photo of his stash in the near future.

While visiting our local discount fabric store, my son was super excited. He exclaimed, “Mom! You can make me lots and lots of bow ties with those fabrics!”

Too cute! and I love his enthusiasm! I think he’s been paying attention to the men in church…there are a LOT of bowtie sport’n dudes
Great job Mom, Calvin looks like he is having a fun time as well. Love to my two best guys and mommy, love MIMI.
